Elon Sweeps Past Bellarmine For 3-0 Start To 2025 Season

Greensboro, N.C. - The Elon women's tennis team remained undefeated, cruising to a dominant 7-0 victory over Bellarmine Friday at the Piedmont Indoor Tennis Center in Greensboro, N.C. The Phoenix improved to 3-0 on the season, while Bellarmine dropped to 0-4.

Doubles Recap: Elon secured the doubles point with a clean sweep of all three matches:
  • At No. 1, Miray Konar and Helen Sarikulaya set the tone with a decisive 6-2 win over Ekaterina Tikhonko and Yeva Kramarova.
  • At No. 2, the pair of Mariana Reding and Simone Bergeron earned a hard-fought 6-4 victory against Marika Caruk and Nikola Kollaritsch. Reding and Bergeron improved to 3-0 on the season as a duo.
  • At No. 3, Madison Cordisco and Lisa Kranec, playing together for the first time this spring, rounded out doubles play with a solid 6-3 win over Reese Parker and Lillie Willis.
Singles Recap: Elon carried the momentum into singles, sweeping all six matches:
  • At No. 1, Simone Bergeron outlasted Tikhonko in the tightest battle of the day, winning 7-6 (7-3), 6-4.
  • At No. 2, Sarikulaya cruised past Caruk with a commanding 6-3, 6-0 performance.
  • No. 3 saw Heidi Bulger improve to 3-0 in singles play this season as she topped Kollaritsch 6-4, 6-3 in a strong showing.
  • At No. 4, Reding also improved to 3-0, taking down Parker 6-3, 6-0.
  • At No. 5, Cordisco delivered a convincing 6-2, 6-2 victory over Kramarova and remained unbeaten at 3-0 this spring.
  • Kranec posted the match-clinching point at No. 6 with a dominant 6-3, 6-1 win over Willis to move to 3-0 on the season.

Up Next: Elon looks to build on the perfect start when they face Wake Forest in a challenging road match Sunday at 4:00 p.m. The Demon Deacons are 3-1 on the season with the only loss being a 4-3 defeat to No. 18 Tennessee.
