CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Elon University men's soccer team (6-2-6, 3-0-3 CAA) remained unbeaten in CAA play with a scoreless draw Saturday against College of Charleston (4-8-3, 1-3-2 CAA) at Ralph Lundy Field at Patriots Point.
The Phoenix settled for its fourth scoreless tie of the season in a tightly contested game between the division rivals. Elon finished with a slight edge in shots, 10-8, but neither team found the net.
Jackson Leavitt anchored Elon's ninth clean sheet of the season with three saves in goal. The Phoenix has conceded just two goals in six matches versus CAA opponents and has posted three straight clean sheets in conference play.
With the tie, Elon secured a spot in next month's CAA Tournament. The Phoenix will be one of three teams representing the conference's South Division.

- Neither team could find a first-half goal as the contest entered halftime in a 0-0 stalemate.
- Charleston had one of the game's best scoring chances in the 68th minute on a counterattack. The Cougars used a stretch pass from deep its own zone to set up Stian Bendvold with a transition chance. However, his low shot was stopped by Leavitt to keep the match scoreless.
- The Phoenix created several scoring chances in the final 20 minutes that were blocked by Charleston's back line. Sumner Nenninger took a late shot after an Elon corner, but it ricocheted off a defender and away from the goal.
- Nenninger's shot was the last of the contest, which ended with a 0-0 score.
