EARLYVILLE, Va. – The Elon men's and women's cross country teams saw their 2025 season come to a close Friday morning at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships. The Phoenix women – the 2025 Coastal Athletic Association champions – placed 16th in the 6K race while the men took 24th in the 10K race, with both races being held at Panorama Farms.
Redshirt junior
Katie Blount led Elon's women with a 20:16.0 effort, good for 33rd individually in the 257-woman 6K race. The 2025 CAA individual champion got off to a slower start and was in 81st at the 2K mark of the race before making a big push in the later stages to finish just outside of the top 30.
Junior
Hannah Weber (20:51.4) placed 63rd to give the Phoenix women two top-75 individual finishers.
The men's 10K race saw seniors
Nate Mars and
Caden Strickland lead the way with personal-record times of 32:20.9 and 32:48.7, respectively. Mars (138th), Strickland (134th) and freshman
Juan Pablo Castillo-Zima (33:05.9, 149th) earned top-150 individual finishes.
NC State and Wake Forest won the women's 6K and men's 10K, respectively.
