ELON – The Elon football team returns to Rhodes Stadium for its final game of the 2025 season against North Carolina A&T this Saturday. Kickoff will be at 2 p.m. ET.
The Phoenix (5-6, 3-4 CAA) looks to send its senior class out with a third straight win over the Aggies (2-9, 2-5). With a victory, Elon would claim their fifth straight season with a .500 record or better in both overall and CAA play.
GAME INFORMATIONÂ
SETTING THE STAGEÂ
- The matchup on Saturday will be the 14th all-time meeting between Elon and North Carolina A&T, and the third meeting all-time since the Aggies joined the CAA. Â
- The Phoenix trails the all-time series against the Aggies, 5-8. The in-state foes series history dates to the fall of 1999. Elon opened Rhodes Stadium in 2001 won against A&T and 2025 will mark the 7th game in Rhodes Stadium between the two. Â
- The two met last season in the 2024 finale. In the final game of Chandler Brayboy's Elon career, he finished with 12 catches for 118 yards and a touchdown in the win. Rushawn Baker ran for 106 yards and Matthew Downing threw for two scores in the 31-21 win at A&T.Â
- North Carolina A&T enters the matchup on a three-game losing slide. On the Aggies' Senior Day, Monmouth never took their foot off the gas in a 63-19 win. The Aggies are surrendering over 50 points per game during their three-game losing skid. Â
- Shawn Gibbs is in his first season as the head coach at A&T. Gibbs has an overall record of 24-18 as a head coach. Â
SMOOTH LANDENÂ
- Quarterback Landen Clark has already been named CAA Rookie of the Week three times this season, most recently for his performance against Campbell. Clark is the first Elon freshman to earn the honor three times in a season. Â
- Clark continues to be a threat through the air and on the ground. In the win over Campbell, Clark rushed and passed for multiple scores. He has twice rushed for multiple scores and passed for multiple scores in the same game. Â
- Clark is tied for third in the CAA with nine rushing touchdowns through 11 games played. The redshirt freshman has thrown multiple touchdown passes in five games this season and has 14 total. Â
- His completion percentage has seen a steady rise during the back half of the schedule. Clark threw at a percentage greater than 60% in five straight conference games and set a career high with a 77.8% completion percentage at William & Mary. Â
HIGHWAY TO THE RED ZONEÂ Â
- All season long, the Elon offensive and defensive units have made their presence known inside the red zone. Coming into the matchup with Campbell, the Phoenix ranks first in the CAA in red zone offense and second in red zone defense. Â
- On offense, the Phoenix has scored points on 34-of-37 red zone trips (91.9%). In CAA play, the percentage gets higher with Elon scoring on 18-of-19 (94.7%) red zone opportunities. Over the past three games, reaching inside the 20-yard line meant seven points. Â
- On the defensive side, the Phoenix has bent but not broken inside the red zone. The Elon defense has been backed up inside the red zone 33 times and stopped the offense for no points on eight different occasions. The Phoenix defense has allowed eight touchdowns on 19 red zone opportunities in a CAA play, a league low. The red zone defense percentage of 25-for-33 (75.8%) is second in the CAA. Â
