STARTING FIVE
1. Halted By Hoyas
  • The Phoenix fell to Georgetown, 93-57, on Monday night at McDonough Arena in Washington, D.C.
  • Quinzia Fulmore scored double-figure points for the second time this season, shooting 75% (6-for-8) from the field to lead the team with 12 points.

  • Ruby Willard led the team on the boards, matching her career high with six rebounds, while also scoring a season-high eight points.
  • Maraja Pass paced the Phoenix with five assists, followed by Ashanti Fox and Kamryn Doty with three each.

2. Strong Inside, Been Here Before
  • Graduate transfer Quinzia Fulmore and sophomore transfer LaNae' Corbett have played in the CAA before, giving the Phoenix an experience boost with two of their newcomers.
  • Fulmore played three seasons at Towson, where she was a threat in the paint and made the CAA All-Tournament Team in 2022-23.
  • Corbett comes to the Phoenix squad after spending her freshman campaign at Hofstra. She was named to the 2024-25 All-CAA Rookie Team, averaging 10.7 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.
  • Fulmore is a powerhouse inside and continues to lead the Phoenix on the boards with 6.0 rebounds per game, which is tied for 15th in the CAA. She is also tied for fifth in the CAA in blocks per game (1.2).
  • Corbett leads the Phoenix offense with four double-figure scoring games this season while averaging a team-high 10.6 PPG.
  • Both Corbett and Fulmore showcased a strong post presence against Presbyterian two games ago on Nov. 10, as both reached double figures and combined for 28 points.
  • The duo led the team both in double-figures, combining for 22 points at Georgetown.

3. Walker In Motion
  • Junior Tyana Walker joins Corbett and Fulmore as a transfers on the Elon roster after spending her last two seasons at Howard, where she was named 2024 MEAC Rookie of the Year and was selected to the All-Rookie Team.
  • Walker nearly notched a double-double in the season opener at ETSU, finishing with nine points and a career-high 11 rebounds. The junior transfer helped Elon control the paint and create second-chance point opportunities. She also added two assists and a steal in 25 minutes of action.
  • Walker continued her performance on the glass in the second game of the year, tying for second on the team with four rebounds against No. 11 North Carolina.
  • Walker showcased her offensive game against Presbyterian, reaching double-figures for the first time this season with 10 points, going 2-for-4 from downtown.
  • Walker recorded three three-pointers, marking her second game this season with two or more made from beyond the arc against her former squad Howard.

4. Rookies Finding Their Rhythm
  • Elon freshmen Ashanti Fox and Tamia Watkins continue to find their rhythm, playing key roles in the Phoenix rotation early this season.
  • Fox leads the team with six made 3-pointers and is shooting efficiently from beyond the arc at 37.5%. She also ranks second on the team, averaging 2.4 assists per game.
  • Watkins provides an interior presence, ranking second on the team with 4.4 rebounds per game. She posted a season-high 15 points in Elon's Education Day win over Presbyterian.
  • Together, the duo continues to emerge as reliable contributors off the bench, offering steady scoring and versatility in the backcourt.

5. Charlotte Era, Year 15
  • It's year 15 at Elon for head coach Charlotte Smith.
  • Under Smith's leadership, the Phoenix have captured two CAA Championships (2017, 2018) and made multiple postseason appearances, including the program's NCAA Tournament berths (2017, 2018).
  • A former North Carolina standout and WNBA player, Smith is known for her 1994 NCAA Championship-winning buzzer-beater for the Tar Heels.
  • Smith has recorded seven winning seasons and multiple 20-win campaigns as the Phoenix's head coach.
  • Smith has helped produce numerous All-CAA honorees, including three straight All-Rookie Team selections leading into this season in Raven PrestonMaraja Pass, and Jayda Angel.
  • This season, the Phoenix shot 65% (37 of 57) from the floor versus Presbyterian – its best mark of the Charlotte Smith era (2011-present).
