ELON – The CAA South champion Elon University men's soccer team (7-3-6) welcomes Campbell (10-5-4) to Rudd Field on Sunday for a CAA Tournament semifinal.

The Campbell Series
- Sunday will be the 27th all-time meeting between the Phoenix and Fighting Camels and the third this season.
- Elon holds a 13-11-2 edge in the series. The Phoenix is 3-1-1 in the last five encounters between the teams.
- Elon and Campbell played to a scoreless draw at Rudd Field on Sept. 26. The Camels then defeated Elon, 2-1, in Buies Creek on Oct. 25.
- Elon is 5-0-1 against Campbell at home in its Division I era.
- The Phoenix is 7-2-1 in its last nine matchups against the Camels.
Last Time Out
- Elon clinched the CAA South Division title last weekend with a 1-0 victory over William & Mary at Rudd.
- Jordin Wilson scored the game's lone goal in the 72nd minute off assists from Dominik Renz and August Guinle. It was Wilson's first career goal, as the junior had three points in two matches against the Tribe this season.
- Renz had the primary helper on Wilson's goal, his first point since Sept. 13 versus USC Upstate. Guinle's assist was his first point of the campaign.
- Jackson Leavitt made five saves in goal to secure Elon's 10th clean sheet of the campaign.
- Connor Mucchetti, Weston Jonke, Martin Kozak, Magnus Jacobsen and Charlie Kitch all logged the full 90 minutes for Elon.
- Elon outshot the Tribe, 12-8, on the night. William & Mary put five shots on goal compared to just three by the Phoenix.
- Wilson paced the Phoenix with five shot attempts, two of which were on goal.
CAA South Champions
- Elon won the first ever CAA South regular season title, topping the division with 15 points. With the division title, Elon is the No. 1 seed from the South Division in the CAA Tournament.
- The Phoenix had won two of the last three regular season titles before the conference split into two divisions for men's soccer.
- Elon finished with the second most points among CAA teams in the regular season. Only Hofstra (21) had more than the Phoenix.
- The Phoenix went 4-1-3 in conference play, picking up points in seven of eight conference matchups.
- Elon finished one point ahead of second-place Campbell and three points in front of third-place UNCW.
- The Phoenix defeated three of the four CAA South Division teams during the regular season, going 2-0-0 against UNCW and 1-0-1 against both College of Charleston and William & Mary.
Home Sweet Rudd
- The Phoenix capped off an unbeaten regular season at Rudd with a victory against William & Mary.
- Elon went 5-0-3 at Rudd this season, which included conference victories against Charleston, UNCW and William & Mary.
- The Phoenix has not conceded a goal in any of its eight home contests. UNCG is the only opponent to reach double-digit shots against Elon at Rudd this season.
- Elon's undefeated regular season at home was its first since 1988. This was Elon's first time going unbeaten at home in the regular season as a Division I program.
Elon In The CAA Tournament
- This is Elon's ninth appearance in the CAA Tournament since joining the conference in 2014. The Phoenix has qualified for five straight conference tournaments.
- Elon enters Sunday with a 3-6-2 all-time record in CAA Tournament matches. All three of the victories have come since 2021.
- The Phoenix has advanced to a pair of CAA championship matches in 2021 and 2022. Hofstra defeated Elon in both finals.
- Sunday will be the sixth CAA Tournament match Elon has hosted. The Phoenix is 1-4-0 in the previous five contests.
- This will be the second straight season and the third time in the last four years Elon has hosted at least one CAA Tournament match at Rudd.
- Head coach Marc Reeves has guided the Phoenix to all of its CAA Tournament victories.
CAA Accolades
- Renz became the first Elon player to take home CAA Rookie of the Year earlier this week as the conference unveiled its postseason awards.
- Leavitt represented Elon on the All-CAA First Team, with Renz, Mucchetti, Kitch, Majaliwa Msabaha and Carlos Levy earning Second Team recognition. Kozak was selected to the All-CAA Third Team with Renz also landing on the All-CAA Rookie Team.
- Msabaha led all Phoenix field players in minutes during the regular season (1,380), missing just 60 out of a possible 1,440 minutes in Elon's 16 matches. This is Msabaha's first time on the All-CAA Second Team after making the Third Team in 2022 and 2023.
- Levy earned his first All-CAA recognition by making 14 starts this season. He played 1,127 minutes on Elon's backline and scored his first career goal in a victory at Radford.
- Kitch has now made the All-CAA Second Team in back-to-back seasons. He appeared in 15 matches this season, making nine starts and logging almost 900 minutes. He took home CAA Defensive Player of the Week honors on Oct. 13.
- Mucchetti has played 1,351 minutes in Elon's midfield this season, the second most among Elon field players. He has a pair of assists and went the full 90 minutes in 10 matches this season.
Top Drawer Recognition
- Msabaha and Leavitt both earned spots on October's Top Drawer Soccer Midseason Watchlist.
- Msabaha checked in at No. 33 with Leavitt ranked No. 39. They were the two highest ranked players from the CAA in the ranking and two of just three overall from the conference, along with Hofstra's Laurie Goddard.
- Msabaha has played 1,380 of a possible 1,440 minutes in 16 matches this season, the most minutes by an Elon field player. The senior defender has helped Elon to 10 clean sheets on the season.
- Leavitt has started every match in goal for the Phoenix this season and ranks No. 5 nationally in goals against average (.438). The graduate student has 45 saves on the campaign to backstop the CAA's top scoring defense.
Defense, Defense, Defense
- Elon allowed just seven goals in its 16 regular season matches. The Phoenix has posted 10 clean sheets on the season, including a stretch of four in a row that came to an end on Sept. 20 at William & Mary.
- Elon is tied for third in the country in shutout percentage (0.625). The Phoenix has posted shutouts in five of its eight conference matches, including four of the last five.
- The Phoenix leads the CAA and is No. 3 nationally in goals against average (0.438). Elon has allowed six fewer goals than the next best CAA team.
- Leavitt has played every minute in goal this season for the Phoenix. The All-CAA First Team selection leads the country with 10 shutouts and has more clean sheets (10) than goals allowed (7) this season.
- Leavitt has made 45 saves on the campaign and ranks top 10 nationally in both goals against average and save percentage.
- The Phoenix has yet to allow a goal in eight matches at Rudd this season, with eight of the team's 10 clean sheets coming at home.
- Elon has allowed just five of its first 16 opponents to reach double-digit shot attempts in a game.
- On Oct. 13, Kitch earned CAA Defensive Player of the Week, becoming the second Elon player to earn the honor this season along with Leavitt. Kitch scored the game-winning goal for Elon against UNCW on Oct. 11 after logging the full 90 minutes in a 1-1 draw at No. 7 Duke on Oct. 7.
- Leavitt has earned CAA Defensive Player of the Week twice this season on Sept. 1 and 8.
Kozak Contributing
- Kozak is pacing the Phoenix with 10 points this season (3g, 4a). He has scored or assisted on four of Elon's last seven goals.
- Kozak led the Phoenix with four assists during the regular season, all of which he has started.
- The All-CAA Third Team Selection has the most points for the Phoenix in CAA play (7).
- The junior is one of four Elon players, along with Mucchetti, Renz and Colin Veltri, with multiple assists on the season and has contributed on seven of Elon's 13 goals as a team.
- Kozak is tied for the eighth most assists among CAA players this season.
Rookie Of The Year Renz
- Renz has emerged as one of Elon's top offensive producers in his debut campaign with the Phoenix.
- The redshirt sophomore is second on the team lead with eight points (3g, 2a) and had a four-game point streak earlier this season.
- All three of Renz's goals this season have been game-winning tallies, including two against CAA opponents UNCW and College of Charleston. He ranks No. 2 in the conference in game-winning goals, trailing only Hofstra's Goddard (6).
- The CAA Rookie of the Year took home back-to-back CAA Rookie of the Week honors on Sept. 1 and Sept. 8, becoming the first Elon player to win the weekly honor twice in a season since Scott Vatne in 2021.
- Renz has started 12 matches for the Phoenix and has played 65-plus minutes on 10 occasions.
Scouting Campbell
- The No. 2 seeded Camels opened their CAA Tournament with a dominant 4-0 victory over No. 3 seed UNCW in Buies Creek.
- Campbell's first goal of the contest was an own goal by the Seahawks. Sam Roberson then notched a brace with two goals less than two minutes apart in the second half before Luc Lavielle added a fourth tally shortly after.
- Campbell's three second-half goals against UNCW came in a 3:45 span.
- The victory over UNCW was Campbell's first this season, as the Camels lost their two regular season meetings against the Seahawks.
- Campbell finished second in the regular season CAA South standings, finishing just one point behind Elon at the top of the table.
- The Camels went 4-2-2 in CAA play during the regular season. Both losses came against UNCW.
- Campbell's 37 goals this season are six more than the next CAA team. The Camels have scored 24 more goals than the Phoenix.
- Six Camels earned a spot on the All-CAA First Team – Filipe Matos, Marco Wright, Evans Dapaah, Lilian Fichelle, Daniel Santos Rosa and Ethan Roberts.
- Roberts is pacing the Camels with 16 points this season. He has a team-high seven goals, the fourth most in the conference.
- Wright and Roberson both have four goals this season. Matos and Lotem Ben Dov, an All-CAA Second Team selection, are tied for fourth on the Camels with three goals apiece.
- Santos Rosa has a team-best five assists on the campaign. Wright, Kristijan Bandur, Xander Martin and Skylar Wright are all tied for second on the team with four helpers.
- Max Leviton has started 18 of Campbell's 19 matches in goal this season. The All-CAA Second Team goalkeeper is third in the conference with a 1.035 goals against average.
- Dustin Fonder is in his 11th season as Campbell's head coach.
