ELON – The Elon men's basketball team closed its nonconference schedule in dominant fashion Monday afternoon, cruising to a 97-63 victory over Greensboro College at the Schar Center.

The Phoenix set the tone early and never trailed, building a 52-34 halftime lead behind efficient shooting and strong interior play. Elon (8-5) shot 49.3% (33-of-67) from the field for the game and controlled the paint, outscoring Greensboro 52-24 down low.

Chandler Cuthrell led four Phoenix with double-figure points, scoring 21 on 9-of-15 shooting while grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out three assists in just 18 minutes played.
Kacper Klaczek had 14 points, while
DeMarco Johnson and
Bryson Cokley had 11 and 10, respectively. Johnson added five rebounds – including four on the offensive glass – and a team-best four assists.

Elon continued to stretch the margin in the second half, using its depth and defensive pressure to fuel transition opportunities. The Phoenix finished with 20 fast-break points, 21 second-chance points, and 44 bench points, while leading for nearly the entire contest and pushing the advantage to as many as 36 points.

From the free-throw line, Elon was steady throughout, converting 24-of-28 attempts (85.7%).

NOTES
- Elon surpassed 90 points for the fourth time this season, and for the first time since Nov. 15.
- Eleven of the 13 Phoenix who saw the floor scored at least two points.
- Iker Garmendia totaled eight points on a perfect 8-for-8 effort at the free throw line and grabbed seven rebounds.
- Chandler Cuthrell scored 20-plus points for the 10th time through 13 games this season.
- Elon redshirt junior Savion Taylor made his collegiate debut, tallying one rebound and one assist in four minutes of play.
