Knoxville, Tenn. - The Elon men's tennis team fell 4-0 against Pennsylvania Sunday in Knoxville. After fighting through doubles, the Phoenix were unable to secure a victory, falling 4-0 to the Quakers. Penn improves to 7-1 on the season and Elon falls to 0-3.

Doubles Play:
During doubles play, Penn was able to clinch the point by winning the first and third match:

• No. 1 Doubles: Elon's duo of Veljko Krstic and Oskar Antinheimo were defeated by Penn's Sanjeey Chundu and Aaron Sandler with a score of 7-5.
• No. 2 Doubles: In the number two spot, Rafael Ymer and Jack Curtis fought for a 6-4 win against Tal Goodman and Parashar Bharadwaj.
• No. 3 Doubles: Manfredi Graziani and Shaurya Bharadwaj of Penn were able to secure the doubles point, defeating Alonso Roca and Charles Pilet of Elon 6-2.

Singles Play:
Penn continued to show a strong performance in singles, securing victories in the following matches to clinch the overall win:

• No. 1 Singles Manfredi Graziani (Penn) def. Rafael Ymer (Elon), 6-1, 6-1
• No. 5 Singles Shaurya Bharadwaj (Penn) def. Jack Curtis (Elon), 6-3, 6-4
• No. 6 Singles Matthew Rutter (Penn) def. Alonso Roca (Elon), 6-0, 6-1

Despite the rough match-up, the Phoenix showed excellent teamwork throughout, showing competitive play in the three singles matches that were abandoned. At No. 2, Veljko Krstic won a first set tiebreak and at No. 4, Charles Pilet was in the midst of a second set tiebreak when the match was abandoned. At No. 3, Oskar Antinheimo dropped a tight first set tiebreak.

Elon will next play back-to-back road matches this weekend, competing at Charlotte Friday at 1:00 p.m. and at CAA foe Campbell Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
