Richmond, Va. – Elon University freshman Danielle Swietoniowski was named the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Week following her performance in Elon's 14-12 win over league foe Hofstra Sunday.
 
Swietoniowski recorded her first career hat trick and had five points as Elon improved to 2-0 in CAA play this year and won its sixth straight league game dating back to 2024. She finished the contest with career-highs in goals (3), assists (2) and points (5). Swietoniowski has now scored goals in four straight games and has eight points in the first two CAA contests after recording seven points over the first seven games of the year.
 
On Sunday, Swietoniowski did most of her damage during a critical third quarter run that gave Elon a five-goal lead. After Hofstra scored early in the third to get within one goal, she had two goals and an assist during a four-goal flurry that put the Phoenix ahead 11-6. She scored the first and last goals of the run and added an assist on the second goal. Swietoniowski also had a first period goal that tied the game at 2-2 and an assist to open the second quarter that gave Elon a 4-2 lead.
 
Following the 14-12 victory on Sunday, Elon improved to 5-4 overall and is one of three unbeaten teams in CAA play at 2-0. The Phoenix will host Campbell Saturday at 1:00 p.m. for Senior Day.
