Elon, N.C.- The Elon Phoenix (6-8) fell for the second straight day to the Charleston Southern Buccaneers (10-3) with a 13-4 loss Saturday afternoon. Elon loses their second straight game and has lost three of their first four weekend series of the season.

Seven different Phoenix had multi-hit games with
Ryan Sprock putting together the lone three-hit day for the Phoenix.
Alex Duffey and
Vince Fattore both finished with two hits and an RBI in the loss.

Hank Krift made his fourth start on the young season and finished with four strikeouts in three and a third innings.
Itai Spinoza recorded another clean outing in relief with one inning of work and striking out a batter.

Charleston Southern got on the board first with six straight runs to begin the game. Through the first three and a half frames, the Buccaneers would lead 6-0. Elon would respond with three straight runs coming off the bats of
Charlie Granatell, Duffey and Fattore first in the fourth and then fifth innings.

The Buccaneers opened up the game in the sixth, getting two runs back and then blew the game open in the ninth with a five-spot to take the game 13-4.

The Phoenix returns to Latham Park tomorrow for another battle with the Buccaneers. First pitch between Elon and Charleston Southern will be at 1 PM. Â
