Men's Tennis Wins Fifth Straight, Cruises Past Presbyterian 6-1

ELON, N.C. – Elon University men's tennis rolled to a 6-1 victory over Presbyterian on Saturday afternoon at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center, dominating both doubles and singles action in a strong team performance. Elon has now won five straight to improve to 8-6 on the season.

The Phoenix set the tone early by clinching the doubles point with commanding wins on courts one and two. The duo of Veljko Krstic and Oskar Antinheimo notched a 6-4 victory at the top spot, while Jack Curtis and Rafael Ymer cruised to a 6-2 win on court two. The third doubles match featuring Charles Pilet and Juan Sengariz was left unfinished with Presbyterian leading 5-4.

In singles, Elon continued its momentum, claiming five of six matches. At No. 1 singles, Veljko Krstic delivered a clinical performance with a 7-5, 6-4 win over Presbyterian's David Mamalat. Rafael Ymer was dominant on court two, dropping just three games in a 6-1, 6-2 rout of Pedro Cardoso for his fifth straight win. Ymer improved to 8-2 in his last 10 singles matches.

Jack Curtis and Alonso Roca each added straight-set victories at No. 4 and No. 6 singles respectively. Curtis breezed past Evgenios Vasilakis 6-1, 6-1, while Roca closed out the match with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Denim Yadav.

The most tightly contested match came at No. 5, where Charles Pilet edged Eduardo Valentin in a three-set battle, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5. Presbyterian's lone point came on court three, where Daksh Prasad outlasted Oskar Antinheimo 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Elon now looks ahead to a match against Norfolk State on Sunday, April 13 at Jimmy Powell Tennis Center. That match will serve as the program's Senior Day, honoring the lone senior on the squad -- Juan Sengariz.
