Buies Creek, N.C.- Freshman infielder,
Jake Hajdu, delivered the finest performance of his young, Elon (24-25, 13-9 CAA) career in a 10-8 win over Campbell (20-28, 11-11 CAA). Hajdu's 3-for-4 performance out of the nine-hole was crucial in Elon's win over the Camels as Hajdu drove in a game high four runs and contributed his first-career three-hit game.
Â
Ryan Sprock continues to deliver for the Phoenix at the plate and in the box. For the seventh time this year, Sprock homered and pitched in the same game. Sprock has now achieved this two-way feat ten times during his Elon career. Sprock's home run was his 13
th on the season and his eighth in CAA play which is good for second in conference.

How It Happened
- The Phoenix offense has become accustomed to scoring early and Friday was no different. Elon's offense got a two-out boost from veteran Charlie Granatell when Granatell delivered a two-RBI single to give Elon a 2-0 lead.
- Campbell would answer the Phoenix offensive surge with a surge of their own with five runs in the second inning.
- After a clean top and bottom of the third inning, the Phoenix offense would resurge in the fourth. Back-to-back singles from Vince Fattore and Hajdu put two runners on for Tank Yaghoubi. Yaghoubi laced a fastball through the left side to trim the Camel lead to two. In the following at-bat, Ryan Sprock launched a ball down the right field line that curved inside the foul pole for a three-run home run to give the Phoenix a 6-5 lead.
- Elon added on in the fifth with another pair of runs. With one out, Elon loaded the bases for Hajdu who laced a single up the middle which scored a pair of runs and increase the Elon lead to three.
- After being kept quiet for three innings, the Camels put two more runs on the board in the sixth. It could have been three but a heads up play by the Phoenix defense to turn two on a lineout in the infield stopped the scoring threat.
- The Phoenix responded in kind with two runs of their own again off the bat of Jake Hajdu. Following a double steal from Mallory and Vergantino, Hajdu rolled a double down the left field line that just stayed fair and scored both runners to give the Phoenix a 10-7 lead.
- Sam Nomura would come in for the seventh inning and surrendered an unearned run in the seventh but put together a clean eighth to give the Pheonix a two-run lead going into the ninth.
- Sprock slammed the door on Campbell with a 1-2-3 inning in the ninth and a pair of strikeouts to give Elon the win.Â
