Phoenix Earns Point In Scoreless Stalemate Against Campbell

Elon Extends Lead In CAA South

ELON – The Elon University men's soccer team (5-1-3, 2-0-2 CAA) picked up another point in the CAA standings Friday night with a scoreless draw against Campbell (3-2-4, 1-0-2 CAA) at Rudd Field.

The match featured just six combined shot attempts. Jackson Leavitt recorded his sixth clean sheet of the season in goal for Elon, which has allowed just three goals through its first nine matches on the campaign.

With the tie, the Phoenix remains unbeaten in conference play and holds a two-point lead over UNCW for first in the CAA South standings.

How It Happened
  • Campbell attempted a pair of shots in the opening four minutes of the contest, the first of which was stopped by Leavitt.
  • The physical first half saw just one more shot attempt, which came from Jordin Wilson in the 34th minute. Wilson left the ground to nudge a cross toward the goal that was stopped by Campbell goalkeeper Max Leviton.
  • Wilson took another shot in the 52nd minute that was blocked by a Campbell defender.
  • Leavitt was called upon again in the 81st minute, denying Campbell's Xander Martin on a low roller toward the net.
  • The Martin shot was the last of the night by either team as the match ended in a scoreless tie.
