ELON – The Elon men's soccer team (8-2-5, 2-1-4 CAA) picked up another point in the CAA South standings Saturday night with a scoreless draw against No. 20 UNCW (9-2-2, 5-0-1 CAA) at Rudd Field.
The Phoenix became the first CAA South team to tie the Seahawks this season after UNCW won its first five games in conference play. The tie was Elon's third in a row overall and second straight in CAA play. It was the first scoreless draw the Phoenix has contested this season.
Elon maintained its second-place spot in the CAA South standings with the point. The Phoenix has one conference match remaining in the regular season against Campbell on Oct. 31.
Prior to the match, Elon celebrated its nine-man graduating class that helped the Phoenix win its first CAA Tournament title last season.
