SETTING THE STAGE
  • Saturday's matchup will mark the 15th all-time meeting between Elon and North Carolina A&T. The Phoenix has won each of the last three meetings against the Aggies.
  • Elon is unbeaten against North Carolina A&T since the Aggies joined the CAA ahead of the 2023 season. The Phoenix has averaged more than 37 points per game in those three victories.
  • The Phoenix and Aggies last met in the 2025 regular-season finale, with Elon cruising to a 55-17 victory at Rhodes Stadium. Running back Dan Frederick recorded his first career 100-yard rushing performance and capped his career day with a 19-yard touchdown run.
  • Elon's defense has consistently found success in the backfield against North Carolina A&T in recent years. The Phoenix recorded nine sacks and 13 tackles for loss in last season's meeting and over the last three head-to-head contests, Elon has totaled 24 tackles for loss and 15 sacks.
  • Under head coach Tony Trisciani, Elon is 3-2 in games following a bye week. That mark includes the spring 2021 and 2022 seasons, when the Phoenix had its bye week during the final week of the regular season.
  • Elon will travel to Greensboro for North Carolina A&T's annual homecoming celebration, known as the Greatest Homecoming on Earth (G.H.O.E.). Saturday will mark the fourth homecoming game the Phoenix has participated in this season, either at home or on the road.
  • North Carolina A&T enters Saturday's contest with a 3-5 overall record and a 2-2 mark in CAA play under second-year head coach Shawn Gibbs. After opening the season with four consecutive losses, the Aggies have won three of their last four games, including a 22-18 upset of then-No. 19 Rhode Island. A&T has also won three consecutive home games for the first time since 2022.

LIGHTS, KAM-ERA, ACTION
  • Elon freshman running back Kamerin McDowell-Moore was named to the Jerry Rice Award watch list last week, presented annually to the national freshman of the year at the FCS level. The award, named after Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice, recognizes the nation's top first-year player. McDowell-Moore is the fourth Phoenix in the last four seasons to earn a spot on the watch list, joining Marco Patierno (2023), TJ Thomas Jr. (2024) and Landen Clark (2025).
  • The Tarboro native has emerged as one of the nation's top young rushers, surpassing the 1,000-yard mark through eight games this season. The Tarboro, North Carolina, native has rushed for 1,080 yards and seven touchdowns on 158 carries, averaging 6.8 yards per attempt and 135.0 yards per game. He has also caught 13 passes for 80 yards, giving him 1,160 yards from scrimmage this season.
  • McDowell-Moore has recorded five 100-yard rushing performances this season, including each of Elon's last four contests against Maine, New Hampshire, Wofford and Stanford. He is the first Elon running back to rush for at least 100 yards in four consecutive games since Rushawn Baker in 2024.
  • McDowell-Moore became the first Elon true freshman to rush for 1,000 yards in a season since Bobby Hedrick in 1977 and is the second Phoenix running back to reach the milestone under head coach Tony Trisciani, joining Jalen Hampton in 2022.
  • McDowell-Moore has earned three CAA weekly honors this season, including CAA Rookie of the Week following the Davidson game, CAA Co-Offensive Rookie of the Week after rushing for 126 yards and two touchdowns against Maine, and CAA Offensive Player of the Week following his record-setting performance at New Hampshire.

MIDSEASON ALL-AMERICAN HONORS
  • Elon redshirt junior linebacker Brodie Carroll earned First Team Phil Steele Midseason FCS All-American honors, highlighting three Phoenix players recognized through the first eight games of the 2026 season. Redshirt junior defensive back Tony Hart III received Second Team honors, while McDowell-Moore was named to the Fourth Team.
  • Carroll has been a leader of Elon's defense this season, recording a team-high 75 tackles, including 37 solo stops, through eight games. He has added seven tackles for loss, two sacks, six pass breakups, and three quarterback hurries. Carroll was named CAA and National Defensive Player of the Week following a career-high 16-tackle performance against Sacred Heart on Sept. 19.
  • Hart III earned Second Team recognition after recording 48 tackles, including 34 solo stops, through eight games. The redshirt junior has added 2.5 tackles for loss, one sack, three pass breakups and a quarterback hurry. Hart III most recently tied for the team lead with eight tackles at Stanford and has helped anchor an Elon defense that has held four opponents to fewer than 100 rushing yards this season.
  • McDowell-Moore was named a Fourth Team All-American and was one of just two freshman offensive players selected to any of Phil Steele's midseason teams.

LATE SEASON SUCCESS
  • Over the last four seasons, the Phoenix has found success in the final month of the regular season, building momentum and finishing conference play on a high note.
  • Elon finished the 2025 season with back-to-back victories over Campbell and North Carolina A&T, marking the second consecutive season the Phoenix closed the year with multiple wins. In 2024, Elon ended its campaign on a four-game winning streak, winning each of its final four contests to carry momentum into the offseason.
  • Entering the 2026 season, Elon has posted a combined 12-4 record over its final four games in each of the past four seasons (2022-25), winning 75 percent of those contests. The Phoenix went 3-1 over its final four games in both 2022 and 2023 before posting a perfect 4-0 mark to close the 2024 campaign. Elon followed those performances with a 2-2 record over its final four games in 2025.
