ELON – The Elon women's soccer team (7-2-3, 2-1-1 CAA) travels north for a pair of CAA matches this week. The Phoenix will face Northeastern (4-5-3, 2-1-1 CAA) on Thursday before heading to Monmouth (6-2-4, 1-1-2 CAA) on Sunday.

- Sunday's match will be available to stream free on the FloSports Channel on Prime Video as part of a new distribution agreement between FloSports and Prime Video. Inside The Matchups
- Elon is 4-5-2 in the all-time series against Northeastern.
- Thursday will be the first meeting between the Phoenix and Huskies since 2024, when Elon won 2-1 in Boston thanks to Ava Hellner's game-winning goal in the second half. Elon has won each of its last two road trips at Northeastern.
- The Phoenix has won four of its last five fixtures against the Huskies.
- Sunday will be the third all-time meeting between Elon and Monmouth. The teams have split the first two matches.
- Elon beat the Hawks 1-0 at Rudd Field in 2022 before Monmouth responded with a 1-0 victory of its own at Hesse Field in 2023.
- Isa Murdock scored the game-winning goal for the Phoenix in the 2022 matchup against Monmouth.
Storylines To Follow
- Red-Hot Offense: Elon ranks top 20 nationally in goals (30), assists (34), points (94) and goal differential (plus-16). The Phoenix has scored multiple goals in eight of its 12 contests, including six goals in a road win against South Carolina State on Aug. 20 and five at VMI on Sept. 3. Elon scored 24 goals in nonconference play, the most nonconference goals for the Phoenix since 2019.
- Unstoppable Force vs. Immovable Object: Elon has the CAA's top scoring offense with 30 goals while Monmouth boasts the conference's top scoring defense having conceded just eight goals in 12 contests.
- Balanced Attack: Elon's 30 goals this season have come from 15 different scorers. Additionally, of the 22 field players to log minutes for Elon this season, 18 have notched at least one point.
- Hats Off For Isa: Isa Murdock is second among CAA scorers with a team-best 16 points this season. The forward is tied for second in the conference in goals (6) and tied for sixth in assists (4). Murdock became the first Phoenix to score a hat trick since 2023 earlier this season with three goals against VMI. She was named CAA Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 7 and exceeded 50 career points earlier this season.
- First-Time Goal Scorers: Six different Elon players have scored their first career goal this season – Nicole Kleyner (3), Maya Abousaab (2), Hannah Carlson, Isabel DiPrima, Jessica Hill and Emerson Rogers. Gabby Tirado's four goals this season are also her first with the Phoenix after transferring to Elon from Marist.
- The Great Gabby: Tirado is second on the Phoenix with 12 points and four goals in her debut Elon campaign. She leads the Phoenix with five points through the first four CAA contests, and her four assists are tied for the sixth most in the conference. The junior has netted in a goal in back-to-back matches, including a game-tying goal Sept. 27 in a 1-1 draw against Hofstra.
- Helping Hand: Talia Feigin leads the CAA with six assists on the campaign after assisting on goals in each of Elon's first two CAA victories. The senior became the first Elon player to notch three assists in a match since 2023 with a trio of second-half helpers on Sept. 3 at VMI.
- GG: Grace Gelhaus, the reigning CAA Defensive Player of the Year, has seven points this season with one goal and five assists. Gelhaus had an assist in Elon's CAA opening victory over Campbell on Sept. 20.
- Person Of Interest: Naomi Person has started 11 of Elon's 12 matches in goal this season, the first starts of her college career. She has contributed to three shutouts alongside Anica Carpenter and added her first career solo shutout Sept. 20 against Campbell.
- Kleyner Plays Hero: Kleyner scored the game-winning goal for the Phoenix in its CAA championship rematch against Stony Brook on Sept. 24, converting in the 86th minute to help Elon win, 2-1. Kleyner became the first Elon freshman to net a game-winning goal since Jordan Green against Hampton in 2023.
- Rookies Of The Week: Elon swept the first two CAA Rookie of the Week awards this season, with Kleyner winning it on Aug. 17 before Carlson made it back-to-back for the Phoenix by earning the honor on Aug. 24.
- Let's Go, Dan: Green is having a career-best scoring season. The senior captain scored her career-best third goal of the season against Stony Brook, helping the Phoenix win the CAA championship rematch. Her eight points this season are also a career best and are tied with Feigin for the third most on the Phoenix.
- On The Road Again: This week continues a stretch of three straight CAA road matches for the Phoenix. Elon is 2-2-2 away from Rudd Field this season.
- All-CAA Honorees: The Phoenix was picked to finish first in the CAA South Division preseason poll. Additionally, Grace Gelhaus, Isa Murdock, Katie Bisgrove and Ava Hellner were all named to the preseason all-conference team.
Last Time Out
- Elon suffered its first CAA defeat of the season over the weekend, falling 5-1 at unbeaten UNCW.
- The match pitted the top two teams in the CAA South standings against each other. The Seahawks pulled one point clear of the Phoenix for the division lead with the victory.
- Tirado scored Elon's goal late in the first half to cut UNCW's lead at the break to 2-1.
- Person and Carpenter split goalkeeping duties, with Person playing the first half before Carpenter entered for the second half.
- The loss snapped Elon's 12-match unbeaten streak against CAA opponents.
Defending Champions
- Elon won its second CAA title last fall and its first since the spring 2021 season.
- The Phoenix finished third in the South Division and clinched a CAA Tournament berth with a tie against College of Charleston on the last day of the regular season. Elon rode a six-match unbeaten streak into the postseason.
- Elon started its tournament with a 1-0 road win over William & Mary behind an Ashlee Brehio goal. In the semifinals, the Phoenix eliminated UNCW, the South's top seed, on the road via a penalty shootout following a scoreless draw to advance to the championship match.
- In the CAA final, Elon upended Stony Brook on the road in penalty kicks after a 1-1 decision on Long Island. Bisgrove made 10 saves in the contest to finish Elon's championship run with 28 stops.
- The Phoenix led the CAA last season in goal differential, goals against average, save percentage and shutout percentage. Elon allowed just 16 goals in 21 matches, conceding just 11 times in conference play.
- Elon also had a top-three scoring offense in the conference, netting 1.78 goals per match in CAA play.
Scouting Northeastern
- The Huskies are 4-5-3 overall this season and are currently third in the CAA North standings with seven points.
- Northeastern is coming off a 2-1 home loss to Hofstra on Sunday. Prior to that result, the Huskies tied unbeaten UNCW in Wilmington on Sept. 27.
- The Huskies have a pair of CAA victories this season over Drexel and College of Charleston.
- Reigning CAA Goalkeeper of the Year Eliza Teplow has made a conference-best 64 saves on the campaign. She is second in the conference with five shutouts and third in the CAA with a .810 save percentage.
- Northeastern has scored just 12 goals this season, the second fewest in the conference. Lula Arcila leads the Huskies with eight points.
- Arcila and Claire Murray are tied for the team lead in goals with three apiece.
- Ava Gialanella leads Northeastern with three assists on the season.
- Northeastern is led by 11th year head coach Ashley Phillips.
Scouting Monmouth
- Monmouth is 6-2-4 this season but currently sits fourth in the CAA North standings after being picked to win the division in the preseason poll. The Hawks will host Campbell on Thursday before facing Elon.
- The Hawks are 1-1-2 in conference play and are two points behind the Huskies for third place in the North.
- Monmouth is coming off a scoreless draw Sunday against Drexel. The Hawks also drew UNCW in Wilmington earlier this season.
- The Hawks have a CAA road win at College of Charleston and lost a match to Stony Brook.
- Monmouth is the conference's top scoring defense, surrendering just eight goals in 12 matches this season. The Hawks have seven clean sheets, including in consecutive matches.
- Tallulah Miller ranks second among CAA goalies with a 0.73 goals against average. She has a CAA-best six shutouts and makes 3.91 saves per game.
- Ashley Lavrinch leads the Hawks and ranks fourth in the CAA with 14 points this season. She has a team-best six goals and a pair of assists.
- Maddie DeMalo and Evangeline Perdomo are tied for the team lead with four helpers each.
- Monmouth is led by head coach Kylee Flynn, who is in her fifth season at the helm.
