ROME, Ga. – The Elon women's tennis team finished its stay at ITA Conference Masters on Friday at the Rome Tennis Center.

After winning in Thursday's first round, Cornelia Kack fell in the second round of singles Friday in a hard-fought match against UNLV's Nikol Mircheva. Kack led by a break in both sets, but Mircheva rallied for a 7-5, 6-4 victory.

In the second round of doubles, Simone Bergeron and Mariana Reding dropped a 6-4, 6-2 decision to the tournament's No. 5 seeded duo of Polina Koneva and Kyoka Kubo from Kansas.

Elon's two wins on Thursday were its first two main draw victories in the event. This was the second time in the three years since the inception of ITA Conference Masters that the Phoenix has had representatives for the CAA in the tournament.
