RICHMOND, Va. – For the second time this season, junior Anna Dew of the Elon softball team was named the CAA Co-Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.
 
Dew was instrumental in helping the Phoenix win its second CAA series at UNCW last weekend. The Harrisburg, N.C., native posted a 0.54 ERA over 13.0 innings against the Seahawks, striking out nine batters across a pair of complete-game outings.
 
She recorded her second shutout of the season in Elon's 2-0 win in the series opener on Friday, striking out four and allowing just four hits. In the series finale, Dew again went the distance, allowing only one run with five strikeouts despite being handed a 1-0 setback.
 
Dew shared the league's Pitcher of the Week honors with Charleston's Mackenzie Mathis. It marks the second time this season Dew has earned the CAA weekly honor after being recognized on March 10.
 
Elon returns to the diamond on Tuesday, hosting Wofford in a nonconference matchup. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. and will stream on FloCollege.
