The Rundown

Â
Elon responded with a run in the bottom of the frame. Hessenthaler led off with a single and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. After a lineout to short threatened to leave her stranded, Baulsir delivered a single to right-center, scoring Hessenthaler to cut the deficit to 2-1.

Wofford answered with another two-run inning in the third. The Terriers led off with a single and added two more baserunners following an Elon error. A walk loaded the bases before a groundout brought in a run. A sacrifice fly to left added another, extending the Wofford lead to 4-1.
Â
The Phoenix put runners in scoring position in both the fourth and fifth innings but could not convert. Hessenthaler lined a one-out double to center in the fourth but was stranded following a popup and a strikeout. In the fifth, Baulsir led off with a single and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt, but Wofford recorded the next two outs to end the threat.

Elon threatened in the bottom of the inning.
Mauri Murray singled to right to lead off and was replaced by a pinch runner. Hessenthaler reached on a Wofford error before
