ELON – The Elon women's lacrosse team (7-9, 3-4 CAA) concluded its regular season with a 15-4 loss against No. 13 Stony Brook (15-2, 7-0 CAA) on Friday at Rudd Field.
The nationally ranked Seawolves pulled away from the Phoenix after a tight opening quarter. Stony Brook secured the outright regular season CAA title with the victory.
Anna Hackett paced the Phoenix with a pair of goals with
Addie Gilner and
Arianna Kouchalakos also finding the back of the net.
Caitlin Walsh made 10 saves in goal for Elon.
How It Happened
- Elon netted the first goal of the game after a Hackett free position attempt rang off the post, allowing Kouchalakos to gather a rebound and score. After a pair of Stony Brook goals, Gilner tied the game with 5:52 left in the opening quarter on a free position goal. The Seawolves scored the final two of the period to take 4-2 advantage into the second.
- Stony Brook outscored Elon 5-1 in the second quarter to take a 9-3 halftime lead. Hackett scored Elon's goal in the frame.
- The Seawolves won the third quarter 3-0 and added three more in the fourth to secure the victory. Hackett scored her second of the half in the quarter.

Notable Numbers
- Hackett turned in her second straight multi-goal effort and her sixth in the last eight games. The redshirt junior is up to 95 career goals, tied with Cierra Hopson for the third most in program history.
- Gilner's goal was her sixth of the campaign and third to come against a CAA opponent.
- The Kouchalakos tally was her first to come in a conference game this season.
- Stony Brook outshot Elon 34-11 in the game.
- Reagan Kuehn and Jessie Penner both caused a pair of turnovers to lead Elon's defense.
- Arianna Silvestri grabbed a team-high four draw controls. She has four-plus draw controls in two of Elon's last three games.
- The Seawolves won the draw control battle 13-7 and outpaced Elon 20-6 in ground balls. The Phoenix turned the ball over 19 times.
- Walsh made 10 stops in goal, her most in a CAA game this season. It was her second time making double-digit saves on the campaign.
- Stony Brook improved to 30-0 all-time in CAA games since joining the conference with the victory.
