Phoenix Bested By No. 13 Stony Brook

ELON – The Elon women's lacrosse team (7-9, 3-4 CAA) concluded its regular season with a 15-4 loss against No. 13 Stony Brook (15-2, 7-0 CAA) on Friday at Rudd Field.

The nationally ranked Seawolves pulled away from the Phoenix after a tight opening quarter. Stony Brook secured the outright regular season CAA title with the victory.

Anna Hackett paced the Phoenix with a pair of goals with Addie Gilner and Arianna Kouchalakos also finding the back of the net. Caitlin Walsh made 10 saves in goal for Elon.

How It Happened

The Seawolves scored the final two of the period to take 4-2 advantage into the second.
  • Stony Brook outscored Elon 5-1 in the second quarter to take a 9-3 halftime lead. Hackett scored Elon's goal in the frame.
