Elon Excels In Latest NCAA APR Report

Four Programs Earned Perfect Multiyear Scores

ELON – Elon Athletics continued to demonstrate its commitment to academic excellence as the NCAA released its latest Academic Progress Rate (APR) data, highlighted by all 17 varsity programs posting multiyear APR scores of 978 or higher.
 
Four Phoenix programs earned perfect multiyear APR scores of 1,000 – men's cross country, men's golf, women's basketball and women's golf – while 14 of Elon's 17 varsity sports recorded APR marks of 992 or better.
 
In addition, six Elon programs received NCAA Public Recognition Awards, presented annually to teams that rank among the top 10% nationally in their respective sports based on multiyear APR scores. Elon's recognized programs were baseball, football, men's cross country, men's golf, women's basketball and women's golf.
 
Five Phoenix programs ranked first or tied for first among Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) institutions in their sport: football, men's cross country, men's golf, women's basketball and women's golf.
 
According to the NCAA, the national four-year APR score across Division I athletics increased to 986, marking the first increase in four years. The APR is a real-time measure of eligibility, retention and graduation for Division I student-athletes.

  • Football — 993
  • Men's Basketball — 994
  • Men's Cross Country — 1000
  • Men's Golf — 1000
  • Men's Soccer — 988
  • Men's Tennis — 978
  • Softball — 997
  • Women's Basketball — 1000
  • Women's Cross Country — 989
  • Women's Golf — 1000
  • Women's Lacrosse — 995
  • Women's Soccer — 997
  • Women's Tennis — 992
  • Women's Track & Field — 993
  • Women's Volleyball — 994
 
The NCAA's APR tracks the academic progress of each Division I athletics team through eligibility, retention and graduation data collected over a rolling four-year period. Teams that fall below established NCAA benchmarks can face penalties related to postseason eligibility and practice time.
