Antinheimo Receives NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship

Men’s Tennis Graduate Pursuing Master’s Degree In Finance

ELON – Elon men's tennis graduate Oskar Antinheimo '26 has received the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, one of the 42 student-athletes nationwide selected for the program this spring.

Each year, the NCAA awards 126 postgraduate scholarships to student-athletes who have completed their final year of athletics competition. The scholarships are distributed three times annually — in the fall, winter and spring — providing 21 scholarships each to men and women per season. The award is a one-time, nonrenewable $10,000 scholarship intended to support graduate study at an accredited institution.

Antinheimo graduated from Elon in May with a degree in accounting. He received Elon's Browne Leadership & Sportsmanship Award this spring after completing his four-year tennis career with the Phoenix and was a CAA Leadership and Sports Excellence Award honoree in 2025. He will attend Vanderbilt University beginning this fall to pursue a master's degree in finance.

"Oskar is a model of what it means to be an Elon student-athlete," Elon Faculty Athletics Representative and Professor of Psychology Chris Leupold said. "This latest award acknowledges his academic achievements and future promise and rounds out a list of accomplishments that exemplifies excellence in athletics, leadership, service and scholarship. The whole Elon community is proud of Oskar and is excited to see what he achieves next."

In his four years with Elon, Antinheimo accrued 80 dual wins across singles and doubles. He served as a team captain this spring, helping the Phoenix win its second ever CAA championship and first since 2019. A two-time All-CAA honoree, Antinheimo rose as high as No. 55 in the ITA doubles rankings in 2023.

Antinheimo is the first Elon athlete to earn the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship since James Carroll from men's soccer in 2012.
