ELON – For the sixth consecutive year, the Elon volleyball program earned the Team Academic Award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), the organization announced Thursday.
 
This marks the 14th time since 2004 that the Phoenix has received the award. Elon was also named to the Team Academic Honor Roll, which recognizes programs that rank among the top 20% of their division.
 
The award, which was established during the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that demonstrated excellence in the classroom during the academic year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative GPA on a 5.0 scale.
