RICHMOND, Va. – Elon sophomore Lilli Downer has been named the Coastal Athletic Association Co-Women's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league office Wednesday.
 
Downer shared the weekly honor with William & Mary's Abigail Avallone after the two also shared individual medalist honors at the Elon Women's Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at Alamance Country Club.
 
Downer finished the 54-hole event at 3-under-par 210 (72-68-70), earning the first individual title of her collegiate career while helping the Phoenix win the 15-team tournament.
 
Her 210 established a collegiate-low 54-hole score, while her second-round 3-under-par 68 was also the lowest round of her Elon career. After opening with a 1-over 72, Downer played each of her final two rounds under par. Her second-round 68 was highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 sixth hole before she closed the tournament with a 1-under 70 Tuesday.
 
Downer's performance helped Elon finish at 9-over-par 861 (282-289-290) to capture the team championship. The victory marked the Phoenix's first tournament title under head coach Susan Rosenstiel.
