ELON – The Elon men's and women's cross country teams will race Friday morning at the Richmond Invitational, hosted by Richmond at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Virginia. The men's 8K race starts at 9:08 a.m. ET, followed by the women's 6K at 10 a.m. ET.

WHAT TO KNOW – ELON WOMEN
- Elon enters Friday having won each of its first two meets of the season. The Phoenix won the Elon Opener for the third consecutive year before following with a 24-point performance to capture the Queen City Invite.
- The Phoenix placed four runners among the top five at the Queen City Invite, led by freshman Brynne Gordon's runner-up finish in 17:23.8. Gordon's time ranks eighth in program history in the 5K and came in just the second race of her collegiate career.
- Senior Abby Beville finished third at Queen City in 17:24.9 and has placed among the top three in both races this season. Beville won the Elon Opener for the second consecutive year after clocking 13:58.4 in the 4K.
- Freshman Millie Gold has opened her collegiate career with back-to-back top-four finishes, placing fourth at both the Elon Opener and Queen City Invite. Hannah Weber also placed among the top five at both meets, including a personal-best 17:39.4 to finish fifth at Queen City.
- Gordon was named CAA Women's Cross Country Co-Runner of the Week following the Queen City Invite, giving Elon the honor in each of the first two weeks of the season. Beville earned the distinction after her victory at the Elon Opener.
- Quinn Smith rounded out Elon's scoring five at Queen City with a personal-best 17:56.9 to finish 11th. All five of Elon's scoring runners placed among the top 11.

WHAT TO KNOW – ELON MEN
- Elon has improved its team finish in each of its first two meets, placing fifth at the season-opening Elon Opener before taking fourth at the Queen City Invite.
- Fifth-year Evan Taylor has paced the Phoenix in both races this season. Taylor placed 10th in the 6K at the Elon Opener before leading Elon with an 18th-place finish in 25:26.4 in the 8K at Queen City.
- Sophomore Luke Chisum has been Elon's second finisher in both meets. He placed 11th at the Elon Opener, crossing just two-tenths of a second behind Taylor, before finishing 26th at Queen City in 25:41.0.
- Freshman Kevin Steinman has been among Elon's scoring five in each of his first two collegiate races. After placing 36th in his debut at the Elon Opener, Steinman was the third Phoenix runner across the line at Queen City, finishing 38th in 26:13.8.
- Josh Driscoll has also scored for Elon in both meets, finishing third among Phoenix runners at the Elon Opener and fourth at Queen City. Franklin Wimbish completed Elon's scoring five at Queen City with a 53rd-place finish in 26:42.4.
