2015: Clocked a new personal-record time of 25:42.4 in the 8K at the CAA Cross Country Championships...Had another personal-best in the 10K at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships with his time of 32:10.7...Ran a 26:14.9 at the Greater Louisville Classic...Named to the CAA All-Academic Team at the conclusion of the season.

2014: Ran in seven meets on the year...Had a eighth-place finish in the Elon vs. UNCG dual meet with a time of 17:24.1...Also finished eighth at the Elon Invitational with a time of 27:38...Clocked a personal-best time of 26:29.7 at the CAA Championships.

2013: Competed in four meets on the year...Ran a time of 28:02.6 at the Mountaineer Open...Had a season-best time of 26:50.9 at the Blue Ridge Open...Crossed the line with a time of 27:48 at the Southern Conference Championship.

2012: Ran a season-best time of 26:49.3 at the Queens Royal XC Challenge on Oct. 12...Finished in 11th at the Elon Invitational with a time of 27:27 on Sept. 15...Crossed the line with a time of 27:38.64 at the Southern Conference Championships on Oct. 27...Ran a 34:49.47 in the 10K at the NCAA Southeast Regional on Nov. 9.

High School: Three-year varsity letter winner at Canyon HS…Named All-Century League second team as a junior and to the first team as a senior…Helped his team to All-Century League track titles in 2009, 2010 and 2012…Two-time qualifier for the California Southern Section Cross Country Finals…Received the CIF California Southern Section Scholar Athlete of the Year award…Received the team MVP award in 2011 & 2012 and the coach’s award in 2010 & 2011…Selected as cross country captain junior and senior years…Four-year scholar athlete and member of the honor roll…Member of the student government, serving as student body president as a senior, director’s assistant as a junior and treasurer as a sophomore…Posted PRs of 15:15 in the 3 mile, 9:54 in the 3200m and 4:29 in the 1600m.
 
Personal: Full name is Ryan Alexander Gwaltney…Son of Doug and Christy Gwaltney…Father played baseball at Stanford and participated in the 1982 College World Series…Sister, Briana, is a senior on the Charlotte softball team and was named A10 Rookie of the Year in 2010 and A10 first team all-conference in 2011 and 2012...Majoring in strategic communications.
