  • Son of Fredrick Cox and Jennifer Spangler

2021 (Senior):
  • Played in 10 games, starting nine times for the Phoenix
  • Finished the season with 15 tackles, 1.5 for loss, 0.5 sack, two quarterback hurries and two pass break-ups
  • Twice had a season-best four tackles, against Wofford and William & Mary
  • Had a quarterback hurry and a pass break-up in the win at Maine


2020-21 (Senior):
  • Started all six games at nose tackle
  • Closed the year with 12 tackles and 1.0 tackle for a loss
  • Had a pair of tackles including one for a loss versus No. 1 James Madison on March 6
  • Named Elon Football's Most Valuable Player

2019 (Junior): 
  • Started all 11 games at nose tackle on the defensive line
  • Closed the year with 25 tackles and 3.0 tackles for loss with a pass breakup
  • Posted a season-best five stops at New Hampshire
  • Also had four tackles against William & Mary, No. 2 James Madison and The Citadel
  • Finished with 1.5 TFL against New Hampshire and added 1.5 more tackles for loss in the regular-season finale at No. 19 Towson

2018 (Sophomore):
  • Started all 11 games on the defensive line
  • Made 26 tackles with 3.0 for loss to go with 1.5 sacks and a team-best three fumble recoveries
  • His three fumble recoveries put him tied for the third most in a season in Elon's FCS history and were the most among CAA players for the 2018 season
  • Recovered two first-half fumbles on the road at Delaware
  • Picked up another fumble on the road at No. 16 Maine
  • Made a season-best seven tackles with 1.0 sacks in the win over No. 21 Furman
  • Also had three tackles on four occasions against Delaware, Rhode Island, No. 20 Towson and No. 16 Maine

2017 (Freshman): 
  • Started all 12 games
  • Made 39 total tackles and notched one quarterback hurry
  • Had 3.0 tackles for loss, including 0.5 sacks, and recovered one fumble
  • Started the season opener at Toledo
  • Posted four total tackles, including 0.5 sacks, in his collegiate debut
  • Had four total tackles, including 2.0 for a loss, in a league win over No. 19 Albany

Prep: 
  • Amassed 33 total tackles, including 1.5 sacks, as a senior
  • Two-time first-team Greater Western Ohio Conference North Division selection
  • Two-time first-team Division III All-Southwestern Ohio pick
