Biography

2024 (RS Junior):
  • Team captain
  • Played in 10 games, starting nine times
  • Had 30 tackles, 22 solo, along with one tackle for loss, four pass break-ups, an interception and a fumble recovery
  • Had at least one tackle in all 10 games he played, with a season-high eight against Richmond
  • Had four tackles, one for loss and an interception that he returned 26 yards against New Hampshire
  • Broke up two passes twice, doing so at North Carolina Central and against Maine

2023 (RS Sophomore):
  • Limited to five games due to injury, starting once
  • Posted 16 tackles, 13 of which were solo, along with 2.0 tackles for loss, a sack and a pass break-up
  • Had a season-high eight tackles at Gardner-Webb along with a tackle for loss
  • Had three tackles and a sack at Delaware

2022 (Sophomore):
  • Missed the season due to injury

2021 (Freshman):
  • Played in all 11 games, starting eight times
  • Finished the season with 35 tackles and 3.0 for loss
  • Had two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery to go with two quarterback hurries and six pass break-ups
  • In a win at Richmond, finished with six tackles, 1.0 TFL, a forced fumble, a quarterback hurry and a PBU. His forced fumble was recovered by Elon and set up an 18-yard touchdown drive that put the Phoenix ahead 10-7
  • Forced a fumble at Appalachian State and had two pass break-ups
  • Returned a fumble 43 yards for a touchdown in the win over Rhode Island to conclude the season

2020-21 (Freshman):
  • Appeared in six games with five starts at cornerback
  • Finished the season with 15 tackles - 12 solo - with a tackle for a loss, one interception and a pair of pass breakups
  • Had a season-high six tackles with an interception and 1.0 tackle for a loss in his first career start at Gardner-Webb on Feb. 27
  • Had a pass breakup at William & Mary on March 20 and at No. 20 Richmond on March 27

Prep:
  • A defensive back out of Zebulon B. Vance High School for head coach Glenwood Ferebee, winning a state title and being named the state championship Defensive Player of the Game
  • Closed his career with five interceptions in Vance’s defensive backfield

Personal:
  • Son of Carl and Shaylan Tucker
