Q: Why is Elon University adding women's lacrosse at this time?
A: The addition of lacrosse is a key piece among the themes of the Elon Commitment strategic plan. That plan calls for the university to set conference standards in academics and gender equity. By adding lacrosse, Elon moves toward achieving that goal.
Q: What is the time frame for hiring coaches for the new program?
A: Elon will look to hire a head coach this summer. Once that is accomplished, the new head coach will go about putting together their staff.
Q: Where will the coaches' offices and team locker rooms be located? Where will the squads practice and play games?
A: XXX
Q: How much scholarship support will be provided?
A: We will provide the NCAA maximum for each program, which is 12 for women's lacrosse.
Q: What are the conference affiliation plans for the two programs?
A: A confrerence affiliation has not yet been established, however, it is a top priority. Elon wants its teams to play in conferences that feature like-minded institutions while keeping a strong level of
competitiveness.
