Permissible activities include institutional, charitable, educational and nonprofit promotions.

Student-athletes may not allow their names, pictures or personal appearances to be used to advertise or promote any commercial products, services, jobs or employers regardless of whether compensation is offered.​

Promotional activities (e.g, half-court shot) are permissible, provided all members of the general public or student-body are eligible to participate and selection is made at random.​

All promotional activities, and any community service that involves fundraising, must be cleared through the Office of Athletics Compliance.
