Join us for the Second Annual Phoenix Club Virtual 5K from November 20-28 to support Elon student-athlete scholarships! No crowds, no traffic, no restroom lines, no 6:00 am alarm. Choose your own route outside or on a treadmill and run, jog, or walk the 3.1 miles to complete the virtual race. Make a gift of at least $30 to receive the race pack which includes, a long sleeve t-shirt, a race bib, and a decal.

- What is a virtual 5K?
- A virtual 5K is a 3.1 mile run or walk that can be completed anywhere in the world at any time of day! You don't have to worry about setting a 6 a.m. alarm to be at the start line. You can complete the run or walk at your convenience during the allotted timeframe.
- When does the Phoenix Club Virtual 5K take place?
- The Phoenix Club Virtual 5K will take place from Saturday, November 20th to Sunday, November 28th. You can complete the virtual 5K at any point during this timeframe.
- Who can participate in the Virtual 5K run/walk?
- Anyone can participate in the virtual 5K! We are encouraging Elon students, alumni, family and friends to participate.
- How can I register?
- You can register for the virtual 5K here.
- What does the gift for the race pack go toward?
- 100% of the gift goes directly to student-athlete scholarships!
- Will there be medals, awards, or prizes?
- When you make a gift of $30 or more, you receive a race pack, which includes a long-sleeve t-shirt, race bib, and decal. Race packs will be mailed in early November. The shirt is a heather grey long-sleeve shirt that is available in unisex sizing and is made of ultra-comfortable, moisture-wicking fabric.
- Where can I view race results?
- Share photos from your run on social media by using the hashtag #Elon5K. You can also download the free Strava app to your phone and join the Strava club "Elon Phoenix Club Virtual 5K" here, then RSVP to the club event here! Strava is a free GPS app that will track your time and mileage while you run or walk. Signing up for Strava is also free, so don't miss out on seeing where you rank amongst other runners!
- When will I receive what is included in the mail?
- Make a gift by November 10th to ensure you receive your race pack in the mail by race week.
- Can I register via phone, mail, or Venmo?
- You can register and make a gift on the registration page here or by calling Kayla Timmons in the Phoenix Club at (336) 278-2781.
- Will my gift count towards the Elon LEADS campaign?
- Yes, each gift will also count toward the ongoing Elon LEADS Campaign. By supporting Elon during the campaign, you join a community of donors who will prepare our next generation of leaders. Elon LEADS through you!
- Is my gift tax-deductible?
- Donors itemizing their contribution are advised that per IRS guidelines the charitable portion of your donation must be reduced by the fair market value of the Elon 5K bundled merchandise, $12 each. That amount, multiplied by the number of bundles you receive, should be deducted from the value of your gift. If your gift is greater than or equal to $56.00 then the full amount of your gift can be considered tax-deductible. The value of any benefit(s) you may receive in relation to your membership in the Phoenix Club should also reduce the total gift value. If you have questions about the deductibility of your gift, please consult your tax advisor.
