Aaron Walker

In July of 2005, Aaron Walker was named the head strength and conditioning coach at Elon. In this role, he is responsible for the design and implementation of the athletic performance programs for football, men’s basketball, volleyball, softball, baseball (position players) and golf. Walker also oversees the development of all other varsity sports at Elon. 

Before coming to Elon, Walker was an assistant at the University of North Carolina (2004-05) where he worked with football and women’s basketball. He also served as the strength and conditioning coach at South Carolina State University (2003-04), training all varsity sports.

Walker graduated from East Carolina University in May of 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Communications. He was a three-year starter for the Pirate football squad. Walker started 36 straight games, including three bowl games.  

Following graduation, he played professional football in the German Football League for the Assindia Cardinals, where he was defensive MVP. Walker also coached football and assisted in the weight room while working at Irmo High School in Columbia, S.C.

Walker is married to the former Michaela Durkin and they have one son, Aaron Michael, and one daughter, Cadence Priscilla. They also have one dog, Sara.
