Bobby Blick came to Elon in February 2011 as the Phoenix’s tight ends coach after serving four seasons as the offensive graduate assistant coach and offensive video graduate assistant for North Carolina State University’s football program.

In Blick’s first season with Elon, the Phoenix sported a veteran pair of tight ends in Andre Labinowicz and Taylor Berry.  He also oversaw the move to the position by former fullback Matt Eastman.

In 2012, Blick guided a young group of tight ends to 16 receptions for 234 yards and two touchdowns.  Of the tight ends that saw action, three saw their first intercollegiate game action, while another was a senior who moved to the position the previous spring – Chris Harris.  Harris had a solid senior campaign and, thanks in part to impressive workout numbers, earned a tryout with the Baltimore Ravens.

In his four seasons with the Wolfpack, Blick was a part of teams that made two bowl appearances, including a 23-7 win over West Virginia University in the 2010 Champs Sports Bowl. This season, NC State ranked third in the Atlantic Coast Conference in scoring offense, averaging 31.8 points per game, and was fourth in total offense, averaging 338.5 yards per outing.

Blick was also an undergraduate assistant for three seasons and was part of the staff that helped the Wolfpack team to the 2005 Meineke Car Care Bowl. In 2010, Blick worked specifically with the wide receivers while coaching the scout team.

Originally from Jacksonville, N.C., Blick attended White Oak High School where he was a four-year varsity letterman in baseball and a three-year varsity letterman in football. He earned all-county and all-area honors while being named a U.S. Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete as a senior.

Blick graduated magna cum laude from NC State in 2007 with a degree in political science and a concentration in secondary education. Blick is the son of Jeri and Bob Blick, the former head football coach at White Oak High School.
