Kyle Perkins joined Elon as wide receivers coach in February of 2023 after earning a National Championship as an assistant wide receivers coach at the University of Georgia in 2022. He was named recruiting coordinator as well for the 2024 season.

In his first season at Elon, Perkins had the task of replacing an offensive line that graduated two of the top eight wide receivers in the program’s Division I history in Bryson Daughtry and Jackson Parham. Chandler Brayboy and Jordan Bonner stepped in and each had over 500 yards receiving, combining for nine touchdown catches. Jamarien Dalton and Cornell Hendrick Jr. added to the depth at the position, while developing younger players like Landyn Backey and transfer newcomer Onuma Dieke.

At Georgia, Perkins instructed second team All-SEC wide receiver Ladd McConkey and was instrumental to an offense that ranked first in all of FBS in red zone offense and among the top five in in total offense, scoring offense and third down conversion rate.

Prior to his time at Georgia, Perkins was an assistant wide receivers coach at Nevada and a Bill Walsh Minority Fellowship Intern with the Arizona Cardinals. He was an assistant wide receivers coach at Oregon for the 2021 season, prior to spending three years at Wake Forest. He began as an offensive quality control coach for the 2018 season and was an assistant wide receivers coach in 2019 and 2020.

At Wake Forest, Perkins instructed three players – Kendall Hinton, JaQuarii Roberson and Sage Suratt, who were named All-ACC. Roberson and Suratt were named All-Americans and Suratt was a Biletnikoff Award semifinalist, given to the best wide receiver in the country.

Perkins spent the 2017 season as the wide receivers coach at Oberlin, following a tenure as an offensive intern at his alma mater, Notre Dame College for the 2016 season.

In total, Perkins has coached 12 wide receivers who have played in the NFL, including Mitchell Shegos and CJ Germany from Notre Dame College, Greg Dortch, Alex Bachman, Kendall Hinton, Scotty Washington, Sage Suratt and JaQuarii Roberson from Wake Forest, Devon Williams, Johnny Johnson III and Jaylon Redd from Oregon, and Kearis Jackson from Georgia. Roberson, Surratt and Dortch all earned All-America status. Perkins has also coached eight all-conference wide receivers.

Perkins has coached teams that have advanced to bowl games in each of the past five years. Georgia played in the Chic-Fil-A Peach Bowl and then won the CFP National Championship game in 2022. He was a member of the 2021 Oregon staff that went to the Valero Alamo Bowl and the 2020 Wake Forest program that advanced to the Duke's Mayo Bowl. In 2018 and 2019, Wake Forest also advanced to the Birmingham Bowl and the Pinstripe Bowl, respectively.

Perkins was an all-conference wide receiver and team captain at Notre Dame College, earning a National Football Federation post-graduate scholarship.
