Cameron Ringstead

Cameron Ringstead spent eight years on staff at Elon, most recently serving as Director of Sports Performance from 2025-26. Ringstead left Elon in May 2026 for the same position at Belmont University.

Ringstead arrived at Elon in July 2018 as an assistant sports performance coach. He was elevated to head sports performance coach in 2019 before being promoted to Director of Sports Performance in 2025.

Prior to joining Elon's sports performance staff in July 2018, Ringstead served as the strength & conditioning graduate assistant for the Pride, where he was responsible for program design and implementation for football, men's soccer, men's basketball, and track & field throwers. While completing a sports and exercise degree at the University of Chester, Ringstead spent the summer of 2015 working with the University of Richmond's men's basketball team. As an undergrad, he also interned with the Warrington Wolves Rugby Club, where he oversaw speed development and helped develop explosiveness, coordination, and basic functional movements. After graduating from Chester, he interned at The College of the Holy Cross (Spring 2017) and Oregon State University (Summer 2017). He completed his PhD in Sports Leadership in 2025 from Concordia University Chicago.

Ringstead earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science from the University of Chester (England) in 2016, his master's degree in strength and conditioning from Springfield College in 2018, and doctorate of philosophy and sport leadership from Concordia University Chicago in 2025.

He holds multiple certifications, including NSCA-CSCS, CSCCa-SCCC, Titleist Performance Institute Certified – Power Level 3, FMS L1, Precision Nutrition L1, and Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED.
