    Assistant Volleyball Coach
Jennifer Fry is in her fourth season as an assistant coach with the Phoenix. Fry started at Elon University in February of 2012 after serving as a volunteer assistant for the national champion runner-up University of Illinois volleyball program.

Last season, Fry helped Elon through the conference transition as the Phoenix played its first year in the CAA. On Oct. 31, the maroon and gold claimed its first CAA victory with a 3-2 win over visiting William & Mary. Elon saw Sydney Busa earn a CAA All-Rookie selection and was also named the CAA Rookie of the Week on Oct. 6, while Megan Gravley earned CAA All-Academic Team honors.
 
During the 2013 season, Fry helped the Phoenix to its fourth straight SoCon Tournament berth. During the season Elon claimed the tournament title at the 49er Invitational after wins over Tennessee State, South Carolina State and host Charlotte. The Phoenix saw senior Cali Estes and rookie Ally Karle to all-conference honors as Estes was named to the All-SoCon second team after posting six triple-doubles on the season. Karle earned all-freshman accolades and was also named the SoCon Freshman of the Week during the year. Four players - Gravley, Kris Harris, Ana Nicksic and Maggie Reichard - were also earned academic all-conference honors.
 
In 2012, the team recorded a 9-7 SoCon record, a second-place finish in the North Division and a trip to the SoCon Tournament for the third straight season. The Phoenix posted a 6-2 mark in October, which was capped with four straight victories, including the team’s first win at Davidson in five seasons. Elon had three SoCon player of the week selections in Ali Deatsch (defensive/twice) and Harris (offensive), one player of the month selection in Celia Rose Eddy (defensive) and saw two freshmen (Gravley and Nicksic) named to the SoCon All-Freshman Team for the second straight year. Five players (Deatsch, Eddy, Harris, Allison Johnson and Reichard) were also named to the Fall All-SoCon Academic Team.

During the 2011 season, Fry served as a volunteer assistant coach at Illinois where she helped the team to a 32-5 record and the NCAA Division I national championship match. Fry’s role with the Illini included middle blocker training, opponent scouting and hitter specific defense. Her coaching led to the team hitting fourth in the Big 10 with 2.7 blocks per set.

Prior to her time at Illinois, Fry served as the assistant coach and chief recruiter at Washington State, where she trained the hitters, defensive players and assisted with the serve receive system.
 
Fry served as the head coach at Norfolk State from 2007-10, leading the Spartans to three straight Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament appearances. This marked the first postseason appearances for the program since 2004 when every team made the MEAC Tournament. She also coached the first all-conference performer since the team went Division I.
 
Fry made stops as assistant coach at both Seward County Community College (2005-06) and Angelo State (2006-07) before landing her first head coaching job.
 
Her coaching career began as a graduate assistant at Tiffin, where from 2002-04 she had a hand in all aspects of the program, including coordinating camp and game management of home events. Tiffin ranked second in NCAA Division II in digs in 2002.
 
A native of Yuma, Ariz., Fry holds an Associate of Arts degree from Arizona Western College, a Bachelor of Science Degree in psychology from the University of Montevallo and a Master's of Criminal Justice Degree from Tiffin University.
 
Fry had a stellar playing career, earning all-conference honors in 1999 while helping Arizona Western to a No. 10 national ranking. She was an All-Gulf South Conference performer at Montevallo, leading the Falcons to a No. 24 ranking in NCAA Division II.
 
She has also been involved in USA Volleyball, which has included serving as an assistant coach for the USAV High Performance Championship Junior Continental team in 2011.
