ELON COLLEGE, NC -- Elon College and Coastal Carolina each scored a goal within six minutes apart as the two schools played to a 1-1 overtime tie, Saturday afternoon at Bakatsias Field in men's college soccer action.

The Fightin' Christians (4-5-1) got on the board first when Chad Heinicke found the back of the net at the 54:36 mark. The goal was assisted by Mike Zenisek.

The Chanticleers (4-4-1) evened the match in the 61st minute when Scott Nelson scored an unassisted goal. Both teams battled as Coastal outshot Elon 18-13, including 5-0 in the first half.

Elon's Scot Wahl and the Chant's Chris Malinky each recorded six saves, while allowing one goal each and going the distance.

The Fightin' Christians, who remain undefeated at home this season at 3-0-1, will host Old Dominion University, Monday afternoon at Bakatsias Field for a 4:00 p.m. match.
