ELON COLLEGE, NC - Junior Loretta Lawson (Thomasville, NC) scored a game-high 30 points, including a school-record nine three-pointers as the Fightin' Christians defeated the Spartans of Norfolk St. 91-52, Saturday afternoon in Alumni Gymnasium.

Lawson's nine three-pointers surpassed the old mark of seven, set by Lawson, versus Norfolk St. on Janurary 6, 1999. The team tied a school record with 14 three-pointers and set a school record for shooting 70% from beyond the arc (14-20). Freshman Erin Green (Hahira, GA) collected five three-pointers on five attempts and finished with a career-high 21 points for Elon.

Sophomore Mariam McLeod (Gastonia, NC) and freshman Anestha Blakeney (Marshville, NC) posted 10 points, while junior Tashina DeVeaux (Bridgeport, CT) tallied seven points and 16 rebounds. Freshman Jayme Chikos (Baton Rouge, LA) dished out six assists and grab five steals for the Fightin' Christians, as senior Jami White (Charlotte, NC) amassed seven points, three assists and four steals.

Charlette Fayton tallied 13 points and Hope Knight posted 13 in the loss for the Spartans. Norfolk St. drops to 2-3 on the season, as Elon improves to 4-3.

Elon will travel to Cullowhee, NC to take on the Lady Catamounts of Western Carolina Tuesday, December 7. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 pm.
