ELON COLLEGE, NC--UNC Charlotte's John Valenti won the deciding match at #6 singles Thursday, defeating Elon's Jake Birk as the 49'ers earned a 4-3 men's tennis win over the Fightin' Christians at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.

UNCC, which won its seventh straight match, improves to 12-8 overall, while Elon falls to 8-6.

The 49'ers earned the doubles point with wins at the #2 and #3 positions, including a 9-7 win by Jeff Kuchma and Jonathan McGovern over Elon's Adriano Blacutt and Andreas Moll.
