WAYNESVILLE, NC -- Laura Orlen shot a field-low 70 Tuesday as the Phoenix finished 3rd in the Great Smokies Classic. As a team Elon shot a 303 in round two and moved ahead of East Carolina in the final standings.

Orlen and Katie Knoepffler finished in a 7th place tie with a total score of 149. Beth Frace ended the tournament in a tie for 21st place.

The tournament was the last for the women in the fall. They will open the spring season February 26-27 at the Charleston Southern at Pinehurst, NC.
