ELON COLLEGE, NC -- Sarah Benhaim (Nootdrop, The Netherlands), Elon's number one singles player, was recognized not once, but twice, at Wednesday night's 2000 Big South Conference Championships pre-tournament awards banquet in McKinnon Hall on the Elon College campus.

Benhaim, currently 11-5 in singles, was honored to both the All-Big South and the Big South All-Academic teams. The junior business administration major has been named to the Dean's List three times so far during her academic career at Elon.

Benhaim and the rest of the Fightin' Christian women's tennis team will face third-seeded High Point in first round action of the 2000 Big South Conference Championships, hosted by Elon at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center, at noon on Thursday.
