LYNCHBURG, VA - Jennifer Belk tallied a double-double with match-highs in kills (12) and digs (13) to lead Liberty to a 3-0 (30-18, 30-25, 30-7) win over Elon Tuesday evening in Big South women's volleyball action at the Vines Center.
The Lady Flames (15-8, 8-1) cruised to a 30-18 victory in the opening game but had to hold off a late rally by the Phoenix (6-19, 1-12) to take the second game 30-25. LU used a run of 15 consecutive points midway through the final game in the 30-7 win.
Erin McKeown also tallied double figure kills for the Lady Flames with 12. Summer Elmquist helped LU's defensive efforts recording 13 digs and two block solos.
For EU, Emily Hayes recorded a team highs in kills (six) and digs (11). Lindsay Lawson led the team with 11 asssists. Hayes added one solo block and one block assist for the Phoenix.
Elon returns to action on Saturday evening when they travel to Western Carolina for a non-conference match. The match will begin at 6:00 pm.
