ELON, NC -- Elon baseball coach Mike Kennedy announced the signing of Andrew Davis (Salisbury, NC/East Rowan HS) to a national letter of intent on Monday.

Davis, a 5-10 catcher, hit .432 with 21 RBIs and 23 runs scored in his junior season at East Rowan and hit .378 with 52 runs scored, 44 RBIs and 24 steals for Rowan County American Legion Post 342 last year. He earned All-Conference and All-County honors as a junior. Davis has twice earned AAU National All-Tournament honors. His Carolina Vikings AAU team finished third in the national tournament and his American Legion team finished as the state runner-up in 2000. Davis helped to lead East Rowan to conference and tournament championships in his sophomore year as well as state tournament appearances his freshman and junior years. He was recognized by Baseball America as a "Player to Watch" in the state of North Carolina.

Andrew is the son of Gary and Paula Davis and played for Jeff Safrit at East Rowan High.
