RADFORD, VA -- The Phoenix picked up a 5-0 road win against Big South Conference foe Radford in its regular season finale on Thursday to bring home its fourth consecutive victory.

With the win, Elon (8-4, 5-1 Big South), 4-13 a year ago, doubled last season's victory total despite playing five less matches at this point. Depending on results elsewhere in the league on Friday, the Phoenix, 0-6 in the Big South last year, could finish as high as second place (and no lower than third) in the eight-team conference for the regular season.

In singles, No. 2 Imre Kwast (10-2), No. 3 Julianne Treme (7-4), No. 5 Aubrey Rhoads (7-5) and No. 6 Roberta McCue (7-5) all captured victories. The No. 1 doubles team of Kwast and Sarah Benhaim (9-3) and the No. 2 unit of Treme and Jennifer Fulmer (7-2) also claimed wins.

Elon will host the 2001 Big South Conference Championships at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center next week, Thursday through Saturday. The Phoenix will either be seeded second or third when the league office announces the pairings this weekend.
