CHARLOTTE, NC -- The 2001 Big South Softball Championship seedings were announced Monday and Elon finds itself entering the tournament as the sixth seed.

The championship, to be held at the James I. Moyer Sports Complex in Salem, VA, will begin Friday, May 4, at 5:00 p.m. when Elon will battle the third-seeded Radford Highlanders. Also at 5:00 p.m., number four Liberty will take on number five Winthrop. Top-seeded Coastal Carolina and second seed Charleston Southern each receive byes.

The second day of competition will begin at 1:00 p.m. The consolation games and winner's bracket semifinals will be played Saturday. The championship game will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 6.
