McHugh Among ACC's All-time Best

GREENSBORO, NC -- Elon University assistant softball coach Radara McHugh was recently named to the ACC's 50th Anniversary Softball Team.

McHugh, a North Carolina standout from 1998-2001, was the 1998 ACC Rookie of the Year, two-time All-ACC honoree and 2001 ACC Tournament MVP. She also holds UNC's career records for wins, strikeouts, shutouts, starts, appearances and innings pitched. She holds the school record for consecutive scoreless innings pitched and also lays claim to the ACC record for career wins. McHugh was twice named second-team All-Southeast Region.

In her second year with the Phoenix, McHugh coaches Elon's pitching staff and helped guide the 2002 squad to a second place regular season finish in the Big South, Elon's best finish since joining the league.
