Sulser Joins 2003-04 Cross Country and Track Teams

ELON, NC--Elon University cross country and track and field head coach Jackie Sgambati announced the signing of Amy Sulser (Natick, MA) to a National Letter of Intent on Tuesday afternoon.

Sulser is a 4-year letterwinner in cross country, indoor track and outdoor track and has served as the captain of her cross country and indoor track teams in 2001 and 2002 and the outdoor team in 2003.

Her cross country honors began during her first year and include the All Freshman Team and Rookie of the Year honors. She received the Unsung Hero award as a sophomore. Sulser's many accolades also include League All-Star three consecutive years and the Coaches award in 2001. During her senior campaign, she placed third in the conference while leading her Natick High School team to the All-States competition three times. She currently holds the Natick course record in 2002.

This two-time League All-Star in indoor track, holds her high schools records in the two mile, 4x800 meter relay and the distance medley. She qualified for states in the 400, 800, mile, 2-mile and high jump during her freshman, sophomore and junior seaons. She was a member of the distance medley team that placed first at states in 2003. Her high school team was the runner-up in Class B relays and the Class B state meet this year.

Sulser is a member of the 4x800 meter relay team that holds the Natick outdoor record in 2001. The team placed first in the 4x800 at the Coaches Invitational and third at states in 2001. Individually, she qualified for states in the 800, mile, 2-mile and high jump. Her outdoor team went undefeated in 2000-2002 and won the division during those years.

Sulser is the daughter of Chip and Diane Sulser.
