MECHANICSVILLE, Va. – The Elon University women's cross country team claimed its fifth-straight CAA title on Friday morning, Oct. 27, as league and host William & Mary held the championship meet at Pole Green Park.
Elon becomes the first team in the CAA to win five straight CAA titles since William & Mary did so from 2012-2018. The Phoenix women scored 36 points in the 6K race, finishing ahead of second-place Stony Brook, who had 55 points. Five members of the maroon and gold finished in the top-12 of the race to earn All-CAA honors including three in the top seven.
In the men's 8K run, Elon was sixth overall with 162 points. Stony Brook won the team title with 36 points while Northeastern was second with 49 points.
WOMEN'S RECAP

Jette Beermann and
Leandra Lorenz each garnered top-four finishes to lead the Phoenix. Beermann ran a time of 21:11.00 to finish third overall while Lorenz was next with a time of 21:16.60 in fourth.
• Sophomore
Katie Blount earned a top-seven finish as the Atlanta, Ga., native posted a time of 21:21.30.
Maggie Springer was next for the Phoenix with her time of 21:33.20 to finish tenth overall.
• Freshman
Hattie Reynolds rounded out the top-five finishers for the Phoenix as the rookie had a time of 21:44.50 in 12
th to earn All-CAA accolades.
MEN'S RECAP
• Sophomore
Evan Taylor was the Phoenix's top runner for the men as he came across the line with a time of 25:09.70 and was 18
th overall.
• Junior
Daniel King was next up for the Phoenix with his time of 25:51.70 in 30
th while
Nate Mars was 32
nd with his time of 26:09.60.

Braden Anthes was the fourth Phoenix to come across with his time of 26:52.40 while
Michael Koenig closed out the top-five for the Phoenix with his time of 27:11.90
On Deck
• The NCAA Southeast Regionals is next on deck for the Phoenix cross country programs on Friday, Nov. 10. That meet will take place in Spartanburg, S.C.
