SPARTANBURG, SC -- The Southern Conference today announced its schedule of football games to be televised during the 2003 season. A total of 15 games will be televised on three different carriers. Elon will have two games televised this season.
Fox Sports Net South will carry five games this fall. The Fox schedule kicks off on Sept. 13 when Georgia Southern travels to McNeese State for an inter-conference matchup between a pair of Top 10 teams. The Eagles will also be televised on Sept. 20 when they travel to Wofford. The Appalachian State at Furman game will be televised on Oct. 11 and the Georgia Southern at Appalachian game on Oct. 18 will also be shown live on Fox. On November 15, Fox will carry either the Western Carolina at Appalachian State game or Wofford at Furman, depending on the conference championship significance of the contest.
Fox Sports Net South, a regional cable affiliate of Fox Sports Television, reaches 10.5 million cable and satellite subscribers in Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Kentucky.
A pair of new national television networks will carry a total of 10 contests this fall.
