Bradberry Boots Longwood Past Elon

ELON, NC -- Kelsie Bradberry's goal at 68:48 broke a 1-1 tie and lifted the Longwood Lancers over the Elon Phoenix 2-1 in women's soccer action Saturday afternoon at Rudd Field. The victory sets Longwood's record at 1-0-0, while Elon stands at 0-1-0.

The Lancers got the scoring started when Anna Gravely deposited a corner kick off the foot of Tiffany Crane past Elon keeper Jessica Geguzis in the 21st minute. The rest of the first period would remain scoreless.

Elon would even the score at 1-1 when Kerry McCarron (at right) netted a goal with assists from Erin Gaeng and Laura Fogg in the 52nd minute.

Each team then saw scoring opportunities pass them by before Bradberry settled a pass from Crane and scored the game-winner.
